The baby parade...
Good morning everybody,
I'm writing to you in order to anounce the most beautiful blog entry I've ever written. After discussing one of my baby photos with Prof. Straub in class, we decided to start a little competition. The question is "Who was the cutest baby?".
I need your help to answer this very severe question. First of all you have to send me your baby pictures. I'll imediately post them here - without any name, since we would like to have a neutral and representative result. Then we are going to conduct a poll.
After some days we'll finally know who won the baby parade...

Hello guys,
I've now uploaded all pictures you've sent me so far. Let's now start the poll. Now everybody can vote here. I've decided that the polling spot stays open untill 27th February 2009.
I hope more than two weeks are sufficient to get some votings done.
Each picture has got a number. Click on the images to get the right number and post your vote as a comment at the bottom of this page.

Hi Manon! Don't tell the people which picture belongs to me ;-) They won't stay neutral... I don't know how old I am in this picture. I'll ask my mum for you :-)

Hi Andreas! this is a great idea... I would love to participate, unfortunately I don't have baby pics in digital form in my computer. but I could send you one when I was 3...?

Hi Andreas: Great idea, and I've actually gotten my mother to go rummaging around in the attic, and yesterday she emerged saying: "I have gathered up at least 20 pictures from little person to a bearded one." And this is in the days ... gasp! ... before digital photography! I must confess, though, that my mother never had hair like "baby 3" and so I suspect I'm operating with a genetic handicap. Hi Andreas ,
I also think it's a good idea .. but I don't have with me in Berlin baby pictures .. so maybe after the holidays ,I will try to bring a few. Who is going to decide for the cutest baby? and can we not do the same for the ugliest baby??

I am sorry to answer to you just now. i don't know if the contest already started. I can't give u picture of me because now i don't have one with me... but it is a good idea.
Can we do it in january when we are back from our holiday? then i can scan one and send it to you ... -

Excellent pictures!
... and very telling (although - what if I got the respective persons wrong???) I feel a delicious difficulty when I am asked to vote, aggravated by the fact that, in general, I dislike babies! So, it amuses me that baby 13 seems to have been caught panicking = greed!!!. And baby 14 looks evil, as if it/she/he were going to wrong the neighbouring toddler. Our Lady of baby three looks glorious, but this is not a holy mother contest (then again, we might next stage an Oedipus competition). After all, I vote in favour of baby 5, because it reveals all which is barbarian about small children: senseless violence, naked destruction, brutal noise and the illusion of omnipotence. Who could have preserved these characteristics, all so valuable for DFS? -
